My child had an IEP/ICP/attended special school- what support does HEU provide?
- As a home educator you write in the Plan about the support and environment they require, there is no IEP.
- Tell HEU what support is needed and how it will look in your home.
- Use your Professional Health teams’ goals and aims in your Plan.
- Include the goals that were in the IEP.
- Keep providing the same accommodations at home.
- Continue to access the same support from health professionals that you were, such as OT and speech therapy.
- IEPs are written for classrooms, to help teachers to educate 20-25 children at once.
- You will be 1 on 1, so many accommodations may no longer be relevant, as you ease into homeschooling life.
